Virgin Airlines happy in Cuba

35,000 passengers in one year

Havana, Jul 20 (Prensa Latina) British airline Virgin Atlantic described its first year of operations in Cuba as satisfactory, during which it carried 35,000 passengers to the island, Virgin Representative Michelle Southgate said in Havana.

In statements to Caribbean News Digital, the executive noted the beneficial ties between the United Kingdom and Cuba, adding that the company reported a 75 percent occupation rate during the period.

Virgin Atlantic?s two weekly flights between London?s Gatwick Airport and Havana?s Jose Marti Airport have been well accepted since July 2005.

Nearly 200,000 Brits traveled to Cuba last year on various airlines, an increase compared to previous years.
